Longing Little Painted Papier Mache Dog with Spring Tail white chair 15 1/4" x 13 1/4"

15 1/4" x 13 1/4" framed and in excellent condition

I've seen similarly shaped brushes described both as barber's brushes

with Jose and his family looking as if both signaling "help" and gratefully waving to her

but this is the first cup without a handle I've found

I know this small bowl was purchased from a large private Native American collection in northern New Mexico

And the face on this pup really seems to express longing for company! Very sweet, with excellent red painted toenails, too! 2 3 8" t x 1 1 4" w x 2" d including tail. Though unmarked, my guess is this one was made in Japan, c. 1920s 40s.
