This is an very lovely Campaign or Slouch Hat for a member of the Grand Army of the Republic (G. A. R.), made of black felt. It has an original Civil War gold General Officers bullion hat cord around it. There is a gorgeous bullion wreath attached to the front, with a metal A device within. The exterior shows heavy wear and age, and there are a few holes in the top peaks of the hat, including at the front and back.
